MGB An odd (and probable long-shot) request...

I am hoping to find someone who has a PDF copy of a former Victoria British catalog. The need is such: I have over the past years (decade in some cases) ordered a lot of stuff from them - and when they were still in business I could cross reference one of their part numbers to a picture and description by doing "add to cart by part #" on their web site. Since their site and company are now consigned to history, I have large boxes of "stuff" carefully stored with the part number label still attached, but I have no way to know what an 832-237 (random numbers for example only) actually IS anymore. I have a paper copy of a very recent catalog. but trying to thumb through and manually find a part # is much like trying to use a phone book to manually do a caller-ID lookup on a number. A PDF copy would let me search for the text of a part number and effectively reverse-lookup those parts to see what they actually are.

Does the Moss site understand the VB part numbers as a cross reference? I also wonder if someone at Moss might have a cross reference since they bought out VB

The Moss part #'s are different - when I talked to Moss they don't even have a way to internally cross-reference for ordering. That may change as time goes on.

I was able to find one for you. I used archive.org to pull up an archived version of the VB site from pre-Moss acquisition. You can go there and pull down whatever you need.

If that site doesn't make sense to you, PM me and I can send you a link to get the file.

OK - that was quite possibly the most surreal thing I've ever seen. A web site that can access things that no longer exist? I actually got what I needed, a 2017 copy of the VB catalog. Did I break the laws of physics somewhere in this process? Will the Doctor be coming to visit me for time line violations? What actually just happened......

archive.org is an amazing site and dedicated bit of work. They archive pretty much all websites across the entire web. It's a huge undertaking, I can't imagine the disk space involved. Glad you got what you needed.
