An "MG"

I think it's funny. Of course I hope he doesn't tell people it's an MG, but why not make something fun out of a bunch of junk. It's creative at the very least. Maybe we should pool some money and send him a clear VIN plate from something else, perhaps a Peugeot? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I suppose its as much a Peugeot as an MG... but we Peugeot owners would object (being a thoroughly objectionable sort)...

but I'm perplexed because I innocently and naively supposed that the great state of Indiana (or where its registered) would have required its identification to have some tangible connection with its physical being.

Given its use of a Chevy truck chassis that would seem the most appropriate... unless said chassis has a "history".... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Is is just me, or does it look exactly like one of those "race car shaped" kiddie beds ?

I sooo wanted one when I was a kid,..but got stuck with crappy bunkbeds,.....and my brother /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

LOL

IT DOES!

It looks like a Pinewood derby car gone wrong. Is that the rear glass out of a Camaro for the windscreen?
~leans over rubbish bin~ bbbllllaaaaaaagggggggg!!!
I'm sorry, I know this guy poured his heart into building this thing. But It just isen't anything (and I mean ANYTHING) I like.
It just replaced the Excalibur as my least favorite homebuilt car.

...a fiberglass body made from shower stalls and bath tubs.

Yes, it does remind me of the car-beds too.

Maybe he should have found a ID plate registered it as a "bathtub" Porsche....

I can just imagine the reactions of their owners. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well you guys may laugh, but I bet that thing.....
...its gotta be.... and it has a....

nope can't think of a redeeming quality or keep a straight face.

BTW- It's worse than you thought. I think the winshield is not a Camaro backlight, but one from a '64-'66 Plymouth Barracuda:

You just may be right. Almost bought one of those one time. Glad I passed for a new 66 GT Mustang.

Ya gotta give the guy credit - he finished his project! & isn't afraid to show it!

I'll agree with that.

he is obviously a fan of the "Kustom Kar Kulture", George Barris and Ed Roth and wanted to build something of that style...for better or worse.

In the late '60s and into the '70s, it would have been closer in style (not execution) to creations being turned out by the builder/celebrities at the time....but I'll take a short Chevy van with shag carpeting and an Ace of Spades bubble window any day.

I don't think there are any teenage girls who could make a good enough sounding "Eww!" to describe that thing.

I must agree with Tony....
Although his taste may be well removed from, well, good taste, he did finish his project. It may be an insult to our visual sense, to him it was a labor of love...
Not to say that I would be caught dead in it...BUT, to him a thing of unique beauty... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Oh wow, I have been promoted to Jedi Hopeful... Where's my light-saber???? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looks like something from the BatMan series! I think Lawguy is right about the windshield coming from the back of a "Bakaruda". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gifPJ

Ah, young grasshopper, play with the plastic flashlight first, you must. Over time, as the Force resides in you we determine, a real light saber issue to you we will.
