What about this guys.
Would it work to have an tab under "my Stuff" to have telephone #'s from members that you have collected?
Or, is this a security issue?

Yes, it is a security/privacy issue.

I've had mine in the member map section since that feature was added.

No problems.

If someone wants to post their phone number on a forum that is certainly within their right to do so, but it is not something I will promote doing. I also don't promote nor recommend posting your email in the open forum where spam bots WILL harvest it. In fact, that's why I modified the forum software so that when you do post an email address directly in a post, it modifies the address to replace the "at" sign with a small .gif image of an "at" sign, which spam-bots can't interpret. This doesn't work if you use the "email" icon in the editor, only if you type in the email address directly:

someone@somewhere.com

I'm not going to argue the point, but my recommendation is not to post your personal info openly in a forum where you have no idea who can get it. In the classified section, each ad has a "contact seller" form automatically attached when you place an ad. That way people can use the forum to send you an email (it uses the email on record in your member account) without you typing in your email address directly into your ad.

But again, what personal info members want to post openly here is a personal decision each is free to make. I don't recommend it, but I don't prohibit it either.

That seems and awfully high price to pay just to get onna list of masochists.... (so that's what the "m" in mg....) :jester: :jester:

Of course, someone with a Jensen-Healey knows all about that subject.... :frown: :wall:

Reminds me of this 'phone conversation:

Them: "Well, sir, you could make the monthly payment using our website on the internet..."

moi: "WHAT?!? No way! I work with computers for a living. I *know* better than to send my info into the ether. If the FBI, the CIA and the Pentagon can't keep THEIR info secure, what makes you think your cheezy bank is any different? Hmm?"

Them: "<CLICK!>"
