In 1998, I toured around England for a month. I stopped in at quite a few local Triumph group meetings where "we're only here for the beer" is the main topic for the evening. One evening at a pub where the North London Group was meeting, there was a very nice TR5 with a bike rack on the boot (trunk) lid and a very nice racing bike on the rack. I noted that the owner hadn't chained or locked the bike, but his TR5 was not going to be stolen. He had changed the original steering wheel for a more modern design where he could use a key, remove the steering wheel and he had taken the steering wheel into the pub with him. I thought this was a pretty good way to make sure your Triumph will still be there when you come out.
