an exhilerating tour of the Nurburgring

Neat video. My favorite video of the Nurburgring is the Top Gear episode where Sabine Schimtz takes a van around the 'ring, to try and beat Clarkson's lap of 9:59 in a Jaguar. This is a two part video. The second part will be right there to click on.

That was fun Art  !! That 'Vette did it in over 2 1/2 minutes quicker than Clarson in the Jag though!!

WOW! Cool Doc! At first, I thought it was a race of bumper cars, but then I thought that they would have done better if they had outboard motors on the rear. Probably had better directional control!

At 160 and above you can't even hear the motor anymore.

Yup! I think I saw that too, on that last long straight, though he was almost flat-out at that point (he only gained 4mph!)!! He didn't seem too happy about the way he took the corner at 6:13.2 into it, maybe he could have shaved a bit more if he got that right!!!! :jester:

Saw that corner as well.

Lots of corners he did not really get right. However, he did a lot better than I could. My hats off.

Poetry!

I like his friendly wave at the corner workers while he's pushing 120 mph.

Man, that place is *narrow* and goes on forever. Worse than Watkins Glen.

The early high-speed section (where he just hit 170) was breathtaking.

That early high-speed section is called the "Flugplatz" (literally "the flying place")!!

Back in the day, one of the highest accolades a driver could get was of being a "Ringmeister"!!!

Oops dang I hate that when I screw up in public.
