Had an hour tonight to make some progress on the Tunebug. I'm in the process of prepping the existing motor for removal, so tonight I pulled the generator, distributor, and a few other miscellaneous bits and bobs.

The first real progress I've made in quite some time. Getting that bonnet off has gotten me motivated, as has the melting snow.

Tomorrow I need to organize the parts storage a bit to make some more room for the parts that are coming off. Most won't be reused yet, but they'll all need some sort of home for now.

Drew - I hear ya on the parts..my biggest struggle now is where to put the stuff I am taking off! With the engine, the 5 speed, the original 1098/4 spd..seats out (floor pan fixes), hood off for engine removal and engine bay clean-up...etc
I'm out of room!
I'm boxing the stuff, but out of shelf space!

Keep plugging away! I agree with you, even if I only take one small task for a night..that keeps me moving.

Glad to hear you are making headway..

Good for you! When I was restoring my B, I kept trying to do a little every day or so. And if I wasn't in the garage, I was planning my next move, making sure I had the right parts, etc. It can get easy to get bogged down or overwhelmed with a project! So a little progress at a time is a good motivator.

I've been feeling this way all winter, pretty much since I decided to go the engine overhaul route. So many other bits needed attention as well -- Tunebug will have pretty much all renewed mechanicals by the time I'm done.

So I'm trying to break the tasks down to smaller blocks; this way I can show some progress and get my motivation back.

I attack with a "worst first" mindset. Do the job requiring the most effort in the beginning, then as it gets easier you NEED to finish. And the task broken into "sections" helps.

Just one 'methodology'.

That's a good approach, Doc. Hardest for me will be the brake swap -- so that's first on the list. That will also get the car back on it's wheels, which makes all the other tasks easier.

Out of commission this weekend (4 gigs in 3 days), but may have a few moments here and there to organize the garage a bit. Next 3 weeks are nutty too, but some progress needs to be made. Sure, it was snowing yesterday, but warm weather is coming!
