An ethanol question

Several stations around here sell "Ethanol Free" gasoline. It's generally 3 or 4 cents a gallon higher than most gas in this area. Now, assuming we are talking about E10 (10% ethanol in gasoline) versus 100% gasoline, how much worse fuel mileage should I get using E10? Is it worth the hassle and price to get ethanol free gas? Just kinda curious.

I look at it this way my truck on gas will get 16.5 to 17 mpg on the highway on a calm day. The same truck with the same conditions on gasohol will get 14.5 to 15 mpg. Any extra cost of real gas will be more than made up by the higher mileage.

My MG is the same way. I can get into the mid 30's using real gas however if I buy gas that's been contaminated by ethanol its high 20's at best.

I hate ethanol unless it's in a drinking vessel.

Ethanol? Th' stuff is to be avoided if at all possible. Water avid, crappy burning pseudo-fuel. Great for parts washing.

Thanks for the answers guys. I kinda felt the same way, but what I was looking for was a percentage kinda thing. I thought somebody might have already worked it out or something. Again, just curious. One of those "You need to use this because...." kinda things.
