I’m the owner of a Sprite Mk. IV purchased new in July, 1967. I absolutely loved that car and drove it all through college and courted my bride-to-be in it. After we married, it served as our only car for several years. The Sprite was getting tired and we needed something bigger so it was retired for something more practical. I intended to totally redo it in my spare time but you know how life is, that spare time never really materialized. Gradually, I worked less and less on the Sprite and it just sat in my garage, mostly neglected. I made a couple of false starts on getting back into restoring the car but never made a lot of progress. I even joined the British Car Forum in 2007 but just lurked and never made any posts. Fast forward more than a decade, I’m retired from my career as a manufacturing engineer in the automotive industry and have the time and motivation to restore my Sprite. So here I am again. That’s the reason for calling myself an “old-new” member.
