Am I the only one distracted by the Mini girl?

Rosalind is getting more distracting with each new picture.

There's something about short skirts and black boots...

I have to agree Paul, very stunning and such a perfect addition to the forum.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yesnod.gif
Keep up the beautiful work Rosalind...

Rosalind -

You look like you were having fun. That's what these cars are all about. Thanks for sharing your fun with us!

Thankyou for the nice comments /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

we have owned a few Triumphs amongst other cars. My first classic was an Austin A35, a beautiful little black two door with Red interior and Axminster carpet! We even had a little caravan to go with it. We had Two Triumph Heralds, my Husband had a white open top that he brought from a scrap yard and restored and I when I sold my A35 to make room for my daughter I had a lovely saloon with a full length sunroof. Later we had a couple of realy big Triumphs, one was a 2000TC and the other was a 2500S that was very quick. After those I had a Rover P6 with a V8 engine..and next I had my mini's...and still do /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif Both mini engines put together are smaller than the Rovers /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

We also still have a Sunbeam Rapier rally car, but that is seldom used as my Husband seems to prefer his Rover 800 coupe. But you will have to ask him about the details.

There were other cars in between. An Austin Cambridge, a Singer Gazelle, another Sunbeam Rapier, I had a little Vanden Plas Princess 1100, A Morris Minor and a Ford Classic and for a little while a very sporty looking Quantum soft top that my husband built. And a few other more modern Rovers. I think thats it.

Rosalind, it's nice to hear from you and we're glad you're watching the website.

I really admire the "big" Triumph saloons, especially the 2500 TC. It's rare to see one over here unless it's in a British car show. Really lovely cars.

Again, great to hear from you! Cheers and have a great summer driving season!

Rosalind,

If my wife hadn't bought our car new and insisted that we keep it, I'd still be running around in 60's GM iron. Nice to have a husband and wife team approach to a hobby.

I added some photos of our two Triumph Heralds on my website. When I get a chance i'll find some more pictures too.

So what year is your Rapier? My brother and Dad rebuilt one that ended up with a Minx rear end and a Gazelle engine. I think it was a '57

It is a 1962 Series IIIa. There are a couple of picturs in the 'photos' section of my website.

We are trying to find some photos of the big Triumphs too.

Visited the site again. My brother's Rapier was earlier, as was (I now find out) my father-in-law's.

Love the A35, would like to have one someday. I almost bought a '50 A40. I'm kind of quirky, I like to drive RHD here in California. My '53 Vanguard was from the Liverpool area and my series 3 Rover was from Scotland.

Isn't the A35 what Wallace and Gromit Drive?

The details on W and G's A40 were incredible...those movie guys are masters at what they do!

I loved the A40 and always wanted one. It was called the 'Somerset', and I always thought my little A35 should have been called 'The Rutland' /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I think Wallace and Gromits van was an A35 as it had orange indicator lights, A30 didn't have them, but they were often modified.

A-40!

*Now* your talking!

My first official car was a 1950 A-40. Bought in 1966 for $20. (I didn't have a license, so I drove it in the woods and fields behind my parent's house). I really would like another one some day.

Me and my first car circa '66-'67

There are 2 on EBay even as we speak

A Red one in Vancouver BC

and
A Pick-up in Phoenix AZ

I love those photos. thankyou /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I quite fancied owning a Triumph Mayflower too...its like a little limo.

Has anyone here owned one?

I cant find photos of our big Triumphs....will keep looking though. Apparently we had a Dolomite Sprint for a week too but I don't remeber it.

I actually bought a non-running/almost running California A-40 on ebay several years ago for peanuts....(not a lot of money for those of you in Rio Linda!).

I tried to get a truck load of freight going west so I could pick it up myself (the transport charge to my place would have been more than I paid for the car!). After a few weeks the seller and I agreed to a muual withdrawal of the auction...I actually felt bad for him because the price I paid was a small fraction of the cars actual value.

He relisted it and it sold for much more tha my winning bud.
