My wife thinks so. We have a 1999 Dodge 3/4 Ram Van for hauling around all the kids. I have decided that once the kids are all grown and I am retired, that I will look for a 426 Hemi and a 671 Detroit Blower and build a super van. I've even thought I should make it mid engined, moving the captain's chairs, that are where the engine would go, forward and turning them to face the rear. Then I would build a plexiglass cover/coffee table for the engine so passengers could appreciate it while we drive and play a game of cards. The van is chocolate colored and I thought gold leaf letters down the side saying 'Big Bertha' would be an appropriate touch.

Sounds perfectly normal to me...

Sorry to be the spoil sport but I think your wife is correct. Cards?

"Hemi with a blower in a mid engine van, that blower is going to vacuum your hair off!"

That is why it will have a cold air induction system running from the grill back to the blower.

Consider too how often you may want to be cleaning the inside of the cover since dirt, oil, etc will end up there as well as on the engine. Might not be as pretty a picture as you want after a summer driving season. Plus, consider the potential issues from heat migrating through, afterall glass/plexi/etc won't have the insulating values of a separate engine compartment. Would look kinda cool though..

Biggest problem would be near zero resale value should you want out of it some day.

I'll just be buried in it.

:winner1: Yes, you're sick. But, life is short and if this puts a smile on your face, go for it! Not everything has to make sense.

Billy someone has hacked your account!

(PS it's a '99 ram van - what resale value? :jester: )

It's not all that fast but it's a great cruiser, with lots of space inside...
