Am I missing the humor?

It looks to me like he is poking humor at the various goofy things we see in E-bay auctions--everybody seems to be "selling a car for a friend" "If you do not or cannot meet the 366 terms of the sale do not bid"

I love the way many ebay sellers talk down to their potential buyers and make them jump through many hoops, don't follow e-bay procedures after you purchase, do it exactly the way I tell you or you item may get lost or delayed etc.

I thought it was funny, but I do a lot of business on E-bay, as does "Healey Junkie" Maybe he is a forumite, don't know.

:confuse: I just keep shaking my head and rolling my eyes. Obviously it's a model but other than that...I am still shaking my head and rolling my eyes. Can't find 'humor.'

I'll look forward to reading other comments.

I found it to be humorous, obviously tongue in cheek.

In my limited experience, Leo is a very reputable seller & has a wide range of very good Healey parts, including overdrive transmissions.

I find this particular item to be all the more shocking because of his reputation of being a "very straight shooter".

Click on "View Seller's Other Items" to see how he normally operates.

Come on guys, don't tell me you don't get it. I nearly fell out of my chair. Someone needs to send this to Leno.

I think it's great - it has almost every overworked phrase I've ever seen in a Healey add on E-Bay.

I laughed and laughed, I was tempted to pay the $25 just for the write-up. Just read and enjoy! Now, that's funny!

I personally love this... "Right after I got the car I had a local professional British Mechanic look at the engine and transmission. Even though he never got them running he said both the engine and transmission turned over freely"

Being from Columbus Ohio..I have known Leo for over 20 years...I think after a couple beers it was a fun thing to do.. I am printing this off to share with my friends at the pub..in fact I am thinking of buying it for a friend for his birthday.......and since I live in the same town...NO SHIPPING!!!!!!!

If I do buy it I will post detailed pictures of the GROUND -UP restoration for you viewing.

Do you think you can come up with the $22.49 (90% deposit) before you get a loan approval from a financial institution? My bank would need at least two appraisals...

I was going to ask him a question, but I forgot my e-bay passwords. I was going to ask him "Hey, is that the one where the windshield folds flat?" I hope he sells it.

Maybe Leo was just having a slow day and wanted to give us all a chuckle.

I second what Dave says--Leo is a great source for parts and in return for a spare used SU fuel pump which I gave to one of Leo's pals when we were all on a drive at Conclave 2001 in Grand Rapids, MN Leo furnished me with a drive dog for my 100--not an easy item to come by.

BTW I have the same model car as is in the ebay ad only mine is not burned--being rare it is not for sale.

I didn't even look at the other three pictures. I'm surprised he got the jack in underneath the car, even though it's a low-profile jack.

BTW, this car has the limited edition 24 spoke wheel...they're extremely lightweight and obviously hold up well under extreme heat...oops, just reread the description, they were the 72 spoke wheels with some spokes removed.
