Always that one part...

I feel your frustration Boss.

Reminds me of the first part of this.

Geez, this morning the expected delivery was today by end of day. Item in on vehicle for delivery, but just got an update that it won't be delivered until tomorrow! Arggg!
You get deliveries on Sunday?

Good to hear.

Well, as it turns out, the part was delivered late this afternoon (Sunday), even though the tracking system said it was going to be tomorrow. Finally I’m putting SWMBO’s car back together
YAY!

Well isn't this a fine how do you do! After waiting a week for the radiator hoses to arrive, I got everything installed and was in the process of filling and bleeding the cooling system when I discovered the new lower radiator hose was leaking badly where the hose was clamped to the quick connect fitting. Being retured for a refund and I'm just sucking it up and getting one from the local dealer.

Dang!

Tired of waiting on the snail mail to deliver your parts? Is it possible that the package companies are taking bribes from your local dealership?

More frustration with FedEx. Last Saturday, 28 Aug, I ordered a new Inner Fender Splash Shield for the front driver's side (the big plastic shield that surrounds the area around the wheels and the keeps water and crud from the engine bay). The original on wife's BMW was badly cracked so I decided to replace it while I had the car apart. The item was shipped the following Monday and arrived at a Fed Ex location in Michigan Monday, Aug 30th. It's been almost a week and that's the last update I've gotten. In other words, it's been sitting at that FedEx location all week. The part was originally scheduled to be delivered by end of day yesterday, September 3rd., but later in the day I got a notice that the delivery was "potentially delayed". The tracking website still shows it is at the FedEx location in Michigan. I'm sure that, because of C-19 they are experiencing a higher than usual number of packages and likely short staffed. This is so unlike all my past experiences with FedEx.

Down here they've (FedEx) rented or leased some unmarked trucks to compensate. Driver is in FedEx uniform, that's the only way to ID delivery/carrier.

I think deliveries are all out of whack. Saw a story the other day that if you know what you're going to buy you should order Christmas now to hopefully avoid delays come the holiday season. They said that there were 60+ ships waiting to unload at Los Angeles when the normal is 2 or less. Cargo containers are still in short supply and one major Chinese shipping port is partly closed due to covid issues. and I saw a Prime delivery truck yesterday that had packages piled up to the ceiling next to the driver as well as across the dash, so it seemed unusually heavily loaded. And I've had stuff that has taken 3-4 times as long from places I've ordered from before.

Amazon Prime orders around here are so-so. The wife has prime and has excepted the on-time delivery problem, for me, I had tractor parts delivered a week later than stated from a supplier I use, who shipped them the same day ordered, it usually takes 2 to 3 days. Something we have to accept as I don't think it'll get any better for quite some time. :rolleyes2:

Just an FYI, Fed ex ground drivers are not fed ex employee's. They are independant contractors.
Fed ex Express (next day air) Are fed ex employee's. That's one reason service can vary alot.

The part was ordered last Saturday. FedEx Tracking says the part arrived at Oak Park Michigan FedEx on the following Monday. It's now Saturday, one week later. There have been NO updates since in arrived at that FedEx in MI.

I’ve seen a lot of that this year with them and UPS. Even a package show up the day it was supposed to be delivered egen though tracking shows it never left the first receiving locatio.

I've used FedEx for years and they have always been very good and precise in their tracking - until recently.

I think it is the whole wide world.

Though curiously, we had our kids over for supper.

Son bought a computer gaming chair from a company in the area - it was delivered three hours later.

My daughter similarly ordered some electrical parts from a radio shack type supplier to be shipped. - the store called and said 'one of our employees lives just around the corner - would it be OK if he dropped it off on the way home from work.' um sure!
