Always at the worst possible time

Went out for a 'spirited' drive earlier tonight. Was tooling round a bend heading up what passes for a mountain round here - one with a bit of a dropoff at one side - when a deer jumped out in front of me.

Of course ~that~ was the time I found out my brakes were pulling to one side. Made things interesting for a couple of seconds.

Why do you only ever find out about things like this at the worst possible time? I'd have been happy to find out in my driveway...

btw: I went back down the mountain at rather less than 1/2 the speed I went up it!

Ahhh the sweetness of rectal-vinyl injection.

The extraction of which is the reason vice-grips were invented (and skinning catfish).

Glad you are OK!

As we say: "Murphy never misses"

As long as they pulled you in the direction away from the deer.

Reminds me of the time I took my Triumph Dolomite 1850HL for its MOT inspection. One front tyre was a little low on pressure, but I thought I would pump them all up at the MOT station. On the way two dogs ran out right in front of my car. I braked and did a complete 180 degree turn, on a bridge with a van coming the other way. Somehow I missed everything, but I am much more careful about my tyre pressures now.

Could be its a sign that you need to buy a Triumph Stag.. Admittedly a very rude sign, but Triumphs are not subtle.

I think it's jealous - it knows that some real competition for my affections is coming in the near future.

Trying to get a little close to your WIFE'S new car, aren't you Alan? You may have more than TR6 trouble ahead.

She's not interested in anything stick shift.

She wants the VW back - she's sick of the LR3. Trouble is it gets 2x the gas mileage so I'm using it for commuting.
