Aluminum Windshield Trim

The aluminum windshield trim on my Sprite seems to have a coating on it (anodizing?). Is it better to leave it alone or try to buff it off and polish the bare aluminum. Will the polished aluminum corrode too easily?

I've heard of people having good luck with "zoop". I haven't tried it because of the expense.

It is (was) anodized to a dull aluminum color.
And I have polished mine to an almost chrome look.
But it's now a chore with each wash/wax.
But it sure does look nice, just don't touch it when it's polished. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
