Alternators that look like generators

Have come across alternators that look like period generators.
Look like Lucas C40's but claim to be lighter with 40% higher output and available for either pos or neg ground
Anyone had any experience with them?

I haven't had any experience with them, but if one is made with a tach drive on the back and looks right for the TF, I'll probably buy one. I've been interested ever since I first heard about them. I understand they work very well and have all modern components. I would also be interested in one for my antique Ford tractor, which someone converted it to an alternator. The alternator works fine, but looks terrible and very much out of place. PJ

Holden are very pricey, but I'm off to Vintage Prescott this weekend https://www.prescott-hillclimb.com/events/VSCC2011.aspx where there will be trade stands including the company that makes them, so I'll get details if he is.

If one wanted to change one of these from neg to pos or vice versa, what would be involved?
Am pretty sure it is not just a swapping over of terminals

I looked at these on display at the Phillip Island Classic (Victoria, Australia) a couple of years ago. They are a lot lighter than the old Lucas dynamo, and they come with a fake voltage regulator. Trouble is, you can easily spot it as a fake.
I didn't know they are available in positive earth (sorry, "ground").

Well, I understand that Dolly Parton isn't completely original either; she once commented that it was darn expensive looking that cheap (er, original)......
