Alternator wiring "71 MGB

Most of the wiring in this car is a nightmare...loose ends, splices that are bad, etc. I can't even describe the wiring to the alternator. We're trying to set it right so... we have a Lucas 3 wire alternator (on left is a small prong then two large prongs to the right). We have a large gauge brown wire, a smaller gauge brown wire and a small gauge brown/yellow wire. What order do they attach to the alternator? Only the two browns were connected and both went to the large brown in a weird terminal! Thanks.

Re: Alternator wiring "71 MGB

Thanks...I just checked out this site. There are several diagrams for the 1971. How do I know which it is?

Re: Alternator wiring "71 MGB

I think the Moss cataloge has the conversion picture from the 2 plug unit used from 69-71? to a single plug later Alternator. Bob
