Has anyone tried the 95amp alternator that are for sale on EBAY. They say they they are new and will fit a 73 TR6. Just wondering if anyone has bought one and if so what kind of experience they had.

New 95 AMP Alt

Thanks

Triumph TR8 1978-1979 2.5 wo A/C
What V8 is that from?

It's been on my TR6 for about seven months and on my TR8 for about three months. They make them for all years.

First the TR6: Brosky 95 Amp Alternator

And the TR8, which is a bolt on swap too. Just use different terminals for the wires. And also the back of the stock TR8 alternator.

I can't compete with Paul's documentation process, but that alternator looks just like the one I installed in 2008. (The wiring connector clip looks like it should be there.) I got mine from a shop in Austin Tx, it was mailed to me with a working pulley on it (though not chrome). Don't remember what I paid, NFI etc, but PM me if you want the shop number.

However, mine is ONLY a 70amp version. I've had no troubles, it bolted right in, though I did need to get a slightly longer belt. I immediately noticed an improvement -even at idle, the lights are bright. I put about 15k miles on it since installed, and have only the extra loading of a thermostatically controlled electric radiator cooling fan and stereo -someday the A/C will work.

Leece Neville part number 66021636c (AS123 Alternator) 12v 70amp.

And Don, I did run a new 4 gauge wire from the alternator to the starter on the TR8. I will do the same when it warms up and I install the gear reduction starter in the TR6.
