OK, there's a nut, which won't come loose.
I've damaged the fan in wrestling with it, trying to salvage these parts for the new alternator.
I still want to at least salvage the pulley, and I've taken the old one to bits and still can't find a way of keeping that shaft still and turn the nut.
There's always the angle grinder to get the pulley off, right?
Even if I buy a new fan and pulley, how would I tighten / torque that nut without the same problem?
The only way, and I'm assuming here, if it's on the car attached to drivebelt, turn against the direction of the belt with the car in gear?
