Alternator Bracket

I recently purchased a bracket form Moss to attach an alternator on my MGA. What type of alternator must I use with this bracket?

Ray I am sure someone here can answer that but Moss has a tech dept. that are good knowledgeable folks that would be glad to help as well.

I was looking at the Moss site, and it seems that they use a Lucas alternator in their conversion.

I would imagine that a Chevy single wire alternator could be used as well.

There are also some who have changed to a Saturn alternator, but the Chevy one wire would be much easier to wire up.

Hopefully some with better knowledge of this will let us know.

I think the Moss one is designed for the dimensions of a Lucas alternator, but probably others are the same. There is a Bosch that is identical.

I wrote an article on this for the Wiki. You might also check Muenchausen's Garage. In short, you don't need a special bracket; you can mount an alternator to the existing generator bracket pretty easily.
