Alpine Seats

I need to replace the seats in my Series I. The rails are in good shape but my current seats have severely bent frames. I have pretty much decided on Pontiac Fiero seats since they fit width and depth wise.
Has anyone else replaced their seats? What did you use and what did you have to do to make them fit?

In my pre-Tiger days I had a SV Alpine -- er, most of one, the rest had rotted away.

I happened to have a set of Huntmaster Targa Recliners, and they bolted in just fine and were comfortable. OTOH, they looked out of place, and were wide enough that the center console had to go.

I'll admit: I have never looked at Fiero seats, don't know what the pluses and minuses are. Try to find an unburnt set.

I have a couple of seats and would have to look at them to see what shape they are in. Last time I looked the steel and rails were good. The original upholstery is still on them but the seams are split in places. As to replacing the seats; My series 2 has seats from a capri and needed a slight off center to fit. The Lister has seats from a Plymoth arrow and fit very nice.the rails needed to be adapted to the sunbeam. Both seats are very comfortable. Was once in the 62 for 950 miles in 1 day.
