At last count, reported to our club, they did not have enough to start production. Also, the plates will be reflector type and won't look old, so what is the point?

The black plates may make it into production the others aren't popular. I don't think they are going to let you have a 6 number/letter combo with the new plates.
I wish they would expand the YOM to the blue plates but then again I've already made 3 trips to the dmv trying to get the black plates for my 67mgb gt. They keep screwing up the paperwork.
