TR3s have the rear 'occasional' seat and TR4s were roadsters so the top removes completely revealing a flat ledge that could be used as a seat or as a place for mounting baby seats.

Certainly both will cost much less than the Big Healey... but as for safe -- neither of these arrangments are going to be nearly as safe as modern cars.

Have you thought about a Triumph Stag. It should have the room you want and a great bit of the sportscar look you desire. Most have had then mechanical problems worked out and there were a ton of them sold in Europe.

yeah i know but the stag dosent really appeal to me - I sort of miss some soft lines and curves on that model. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

up to page one again /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Some of the 70's Rover sedans come to mind. Very nice styling, gorgeous interiors, with all the amenities including electric windows, comfy seating, leather, sunroof, etc. Plus, V/8 power in some of them.

I don't know about parts availability but I'd bet they're not too hard to find.

Lovely British cars, plenty of character.

Now, I want one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

There's always the somewhat rare rover mini convertible!

Have you considered a Jensen Healey. These can be gotten on the cheap. I think these will increase in value.

** I wuldent know what it was or how to find it ?? u wuldent have a photo wuld u ?

REGARDING THE JENSEN HEALEY ? -
culd u post me a photo please - since im not so keen on computerstuff and such. -

thanks soren

Although Jensen Healey do have some space behind the front seats, when you fold the roof down it fills up too much of the space so that you can't sit in the back. see https://www.jensenhealey.com/

www.healeyowners.co.uk then click on 'The Cars' shows pics of all the pre Austin cars. Westland, Nash, Abbott, Alvis, Sportsmobile all have 4 proper seats, and are not too expensive, considering the rarity.

As soon as I posted this I realised Nash and Alvis are only 2 seats, but the others are 4.
