The Sebring ALMS 12 Hour will be held this weekend.
As usual, I'll be rooting for the all-girl "Les Femmes Pour Le Mans" (Amanda Stretton, Liz Halliday, and one other female TBA). They'll be drivng a TVR, but I'd probably root for them if they were drivng a Trabant. Here's info on the gals:

Other Brit-racers include another TVR 400, a works Morgan Aero and the two MG-Lolas from Dyson Racing.
SpeedTV (American cable TV channel) will show the event live from flag-to-flag (right now, I'm going out to get junk food and beverages in preparation).

That's an interesting piece on the all-female Sebring team. I'll be rooting for them.

I've been a road race fan for years and welcome the sight of more women and minorities into the fold. Makes things more interesting and attracts a wider audience to the sport.

BTW, what kind of powerplant would a Tuscan TR400 have? V/8??

Thats pretty cool. I'll be rooting for them. I also happen to like TVRs so that helps some.

Cheers,

Go Girls! Now if one could just win a Nascar race and the Indy 500, it would shut up quite a few people. Always loved it when Shirley M. would clean up in Top Fuel dragsters.

Congrats to Weaver and the Lola-MG for finishing 6th at Sebring!

SPEED TV accidentally caught him uttering a "non-approved" word over the race radio that they were monitoring live. The announcers made big apoligies for the bad language....I guess they don't want the FCC (US government) coming down hard on them. I actually thought it was funny.

Good job by girl's-team TVR making 262 laps and finshing 24 th overall (although there were some last minute driver changes, so I'm not sure it was really all-girl). The other TVR made 120 laps and the Mog Aero did an even 100....I'm unsure if either was running at the end.

Top female hot-shoe was Milka Duno in the 22 nd place Lola-Judd that made 270 laps:

The amazing Audi R8 that finished first overall made 350 laps in the 12 hours (the track is about 3.7 miles long).

OK, now I can get off the couch!

Just an update on Sebring - the Morgan Aero 8 finished the race. I am especially happy since one of the drivers, Keith Ahlers, is the same gentleman who lent us his own street Aero 8 for a month in 2002 - he is an incredibly nice guy. The other drivers were Neil Cunningham and Adam Sharpe, who is just 19 years old. They finished 10th in their class and 20th overall, and are very much hoping for a LeMans entry.
