tragic report by cnn, polands pres. his wife and 94 other top politicals, militery, and clergy traveling in one aircraft killed while attempting a landing in russia, what a terrible event, i dont know why they had to place all those important people on the same aircraft, aviation being a big part of my life and flying some very important people around the world we would never transport such a large group in one plane for the simple reason of the possibility of loosing so many key personel in one unfortunate event. i feel really sad for them and thier families, truly tragic.

Yup, agree.

I suspect there aren't too many countries with the 'extra' aircraft to use for splitting up a contingent of VIPs, tho. It was likely thought of as "just another trip" to all involved. Very tragic indeed.

EDIT: I suspect the cost/benefit ratio of doing this is now being re-evaluated around the planet.</span>

That's why a lot of corporations won't let too
many higher-ups fly on the same plane.

Just heard this a few hours ago, total shock... Losing that many key people all at once could potentially lead to instability of some sort, one might think...

I know some families that practice that.

The Queen and Charles, for example....
