that I can do without a few more bits.

Drives great, will lean out the carbs a bit, just a bit, when I get a few more miles on her.

Everything works, only the fuel gage needs looked after when the gas level gets down, however, it is working. I am just not happy with the wire from the sender.

Now find I spend a bit of time cleaning her, even if she isn't really dirty. Finger prints you know.

Need to find a product to polish glass, the windshield has some spots that need removed, oh yea Bartenders Friend, forgot that.

Been looking at and talking to chromeing places. Think I just may use one up in Knoxville, KY. They say rear bumperets at 40 to 70 bucks each depending upon condition, still messing with a ball park for the grill but condition is important of course. They do not charge you till the item is ready to ship back to you. Try this. https://mywebpages.comcast.net/knoxcustomchrome/
Actually the guy says they do anything steel.

There is going to be an antique car show just about 10 miles away next weekend. Shucks I'm not ready. No tags and a few bits needed. Wife will not let me tag it till it is finished. She knows what will happen. I'll start running her all over. hehe.

Oh yea, need to make a trip to the junk yard and find a VW Suroco (sp) donut spare. Understand the 13 inch one will fit the Bugeye.

Hay, I have even cleaned my tools and the box and such.

Look out dog it's time for a bath.

Whew, when I read that title, I thought "Jack's either gone mad or is severely delusional"...we all know these LBC's are never finished!

Ha, Miss Agatha will get done.

Repeat after me. Miss Agatha will get done.

Ok, so we'll go to the latter part of my evaluation. Keep telling youself that, Jack, and keep a steady supply of that JW Black flowing /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Jack, once you get the spots off the screen with the Barkeepers Friend, try finding a product called Rain-X. It's a water repellant that will make the rain simply bubble up and fall off. Probably needs a new coat every 1500 miles or so. I doubt you are intending to take Ms Agatha out in the wet, but I used to live in Fl and know how quickly those clouds can sneak up on you! Definately recommended with the Sprites' wipers! Gives you an excuse to nail it too, if you get pulled over you can simply explain to the policeman that the visibility increases with speed...
As for the Chrome plating have a good look around. Get recommendations, and remember its one of the jobs where the cheapest option isn't the best! I've heard triple plating is the way to go, but I've also heard others say that putting the copper coat in speeds up the corrosion in the long term.
That said, I've seen a car finished with triple plating and it does look bloody good.
Good to hear you are at the stage where you even got your tools cleaned up, but when do we get to see some final pictures?

Hey, yeah! Pete's got a point, where are the final pics??? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Pics of the interior as soon as i get the wheel, three weeks?

Jack

I think you meant Knoxville, Tennessee not Kentucky. These guys are about 20 miles from me. I'll check them out next week.

Shipping it via camel train?!? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Outstanding, check em out good and report please.

Jack, why are you going with a VW space-saver spare /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif Do you need the boot space? BTW My old Scirrocco did not have a space-saver! (maybe the new ones do?)

Well, seemed like an intresting option. Seems I could not get 5 of the tires I wanted, only four. Maybe it is time to try again. Surely I don't need the space for anything. Nothing else going to be in there but the jack and such.

And Jack-
If you do need to save space you could use the tire off of a (real) Mini, the OD is 19" and it does fit on the hub- just looks kind of funny!
