Got all cleaned up this AM, ready to start running errands. Put all my kit inna boot, twist th' key and it spins up, coughs and stalls. Not unusual for the first start in the morning on a cool day. Hit the starter again and NOTHING. Iggy light shows load, no spinny stuff happenin'... feh. Open'd up the garage, grabbed a piece of angle iron and WHACKED that starter a good'n. Packed all back up and the thing spun up and lit off. Did my bidness, back to th' hovel and tracked down the starter I'd removed a few weeks ago. Yanked it apart, cleaned comm and removed damaged "Bendix."

Pull bogus starter outta the car, DROP bottom bolt inna sand and CAN'T SEE or FIND the stoopid thing. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

Disassemble the non-working lump, transfer good "Bendix" to good motor, screw it all back together, install it with the remaining two bolts... drag drop-light out to car. All this with constant threat of rain, heavy overcast and predicted.

"Once more we dive-ed below Calypso..."

Located errant bolt, cleaned and installed it. The "ten times test" was passed, all's right again. Never rained a drop. WHEW!

Threat of snow here...
tonight is gonna be fun. later I gotta try and set the TR2 body back on the frame so I can have an open bay. then I gotta bring in the Jeep and fabricate some plow light brackets. (welding ain't fun in the snow) Should be done before 1 ayem.
No heat... 28 deg.
good thing I got a fresh 12 pack of Rolling Rock. I'm ready!

That front looks to be comin' from the southwest, Ben... that usually means REAL snow. Philly area didn't get as much from it as I'd have thought, though. Mebbe you'll get lucky.

All's good. That first night I got all the brackets welded on, and bolted on the lights.
Last night was a bit colder ('bout 15 deg) got the wiring in place and all lights work.
Temps still dropping, was 2 this a.m. came up to 20s today. Sub zeros predicted for the near future.
That's too cold for much snow.
But I'm ready now!!!!!
Bring it on!!

Careful what ya wish for, lad!

...'course ya ~could~ put some cash inna kitty plowin' driveways... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

oooh hoho.. I'm not "wishing" for it. Just stating I'm ready when it comes.
I woulden't be stupid enough to wish for that.

The Alfas have always been a love/hate thing with me, Donn. And they just seem to "find" me.

yea, Kinda like flies on ....you know....

I pick on Doc, But if an Alfa came my way, I know I'd go for it.
