It is part of the single singles crowd. Car manufacturers realize 2 seats are now one too many for a lot of people. Opposite of course of some airlines realizing two seats are not big enough for one person.
As I understand it, it will be one sided two wheel drive. Something more akin to what the French might develope but the Italians got it first.
