True Story. I have a friend (slightly changing his name) Bill Merrell. Once, when Siri was still pretty new, I said "Hey Siri", "Call Bill Merrell, mobile."
Siri: "I don't see Baby Girl in your contact list."

Can be frustrating at times but over all I think Siri does an amazing job of understanding.

I don't even know her, so I doubt she'd understand me.

Most people don't know that the first choice of a voice was Robert DeNiro, but they decided a phone that said, "You talkin' to me?? Well I'm the only one here, who the **** do you think you're talkin' to", wasn't the image they really wanted to grow the brand..

They also passed on Strother Martin:

"What we have here, is failure to communicate."

I don't use a smartphone (where I live doesn't get the right kind of cell coverage with data) - but I'd be more inclined to get one that talked like DiNero than one that reminds me of being talked down to by various teachers.

I have a work smartphone, have yet to setup and use the personal assistant. Just don't have the need. But there is the plus that for 20 some years the company has paid the monthly bill. Although it is kind of weird to say to folks that "I", have never had a cell phone..

No Siri, no Alexa, a "dumb" phone Motorola Razr. I'm not important enuff to need anything else.

I'm using a Samsung smart phone right now. I held on to my old LG flip phone until it crapped out and now I'm in the 21st century. I do kinda miss the old flip phone though.

I miss my old Nokia too, but the battery went bad and I found that while I could get a new one, I had to order 30k of them since they were out of regular production. Even at just $3 a pop, upgrade was the obvious choice..

Nothing like an old Nokia. I had one, dropped it on the ground while getting in a company truck and didn't realize it for a couple of days. I knew I couldn't find it, but where did it go? Finally, I wondered if I had dropped it at that site. Went back - there it was in the gravel. It had been run over and rained on, and the screen was cracked, but it still worked.

At a church retreat centre not far from here they were pouring concrete flors and the concrete truck driver's phone slipped out of his pocket - came back a few days later, dialed his number and it rang under the congrete. They actually scraped it out and returned it to him and patched the floor.

My phone slipped out of my pocket as I climbed out of a truck one day. It landed screen down on the asphalt. Not knowing I had lost it, I proceeded to guide that truck to the loading dock, running over my phone. I had to replace the shattered screen but that phone worked for years after. This is a similar truck. I've been with Samsung ever since. Weight of the truck is about 14000 lbs.
