Good question. Don’t know but until we do know it’s probably best to err on side of caution.
I use Apple Safari. But in the article it looks like their not going to let us know, at least not yet:

I've used Brave for about 3 years now and have never had any oddball problems with it. I get no disturbing ads and like it. So far no invasions, knock on wood!
Every week they tell us "this version is safe" and the next week "oh that version isn't safe, this version is". If any other industry had that many defects year in and year out, they'd be out of business but for some reason the software industry gets a pass to keep selling defective product forever with no consequences...
