Albuquerque

The book is fun for finding the places he spotlights on his TV show as you're traveling across country.

I was looking up something else & found out
that he grew up in Humboldt County,CA.That's the
same county I live in.
I've seen his show,but only on vacation.We
don't get that channel with basic cable.

Doc,
We took off from Allentown during high winds on Thursday. The turbulence was not too bad. It has been nice weather here in Albuquerque so far. Had a nice drive and visit to Acoma yesterday and some of the sites near the Ice Caves and El Morro. Today is the Zoo with some of Mike's friends and their kids. We are not sure what we will do Monday.

I am just borrowing my son's MacBook before we pick him up for lunch today, and it will probably be Wednesday till I get back on line once I get home.

We will probably hit La Peep tomorrow for breakfast tomorrow instead of the limited free one here at La Quinta.

I have missed the banter, but we are enjoying are stay in the land of enchantment.

...Will be in Albuquerque myself in Tuesday, at the Mini dealer, it is one cool showroom, heck its worth a visit!

Passed the Mini dealer several times this week, including around 6:30 this morning on the way to the airport to fly home...

Hope you had better luck at ABQ than I did...I set off the metal detector and got to sit in the "aquarium" for about 20 minutes before they decided it really was my "surgical hardware in my arm" that set the alarm off.

At least I didn't miss my flight.

No problems in either direction for my travel, although I am getting sick of the number of carry-ons people are taking to not have to pay for luggage. I think they weigh each passenger with their luggage, and if they exceed the weight limit, then they pay extra. If not, you can check two items for free...

So am I! This is the thoroughly predictable result of charging for checked luggage, which is really just a numbers game to keep the apparent airfare low.

(Sorry for the rant; it just slipped out. Gotta maintain my reputation as an old fogey. Grouch, grouch, grouch!)

The only item I will now carry-on is my laptop.

Oh, man, am I ticked off about carry-ons...I board early as a Medallionist so I get to relax before the mob comes on....only carry-on I have is a backpack computer bag with my medicine in it.

People come on with all their luggage & stewardesses don't say a thing - then, they put their luggage in the overheads at the front of the plane & go all the way to the rear where their seats are....so, the guys coming in later who have front seats have to go to the rear for their overhead baggage....really causes a screwup getting off the plane.

So, sometimes, depending on the mood I'm in, I'll get up & move their luggage from where they put it to a place farther back in the plane near their seats (when there are enough people coming on the plane that they won't notice)....&, then, if I don't have a connection to make, I'll sit and watch them try to find their things....hehehehe, teach them a lesson! Maybe next time they'll put their luggage closer to their seats!
