Albuquerque Ballon Fiesta

Boy, I'd love to; I haven't been in something like twenty years. Sadly, though, it just isn't in the cards for me.

We used to have a great event here as well, many of the folk who would go to the Albuquerque event would also participate in ours. It was ended about a decade ago, "insurance issues" was the cited reason. I had a four-page insert of my photos in the local Tampa Tribune newspaper.

Been planning to for a long time. Maybe next year. SWMBO and I were married in Alb Oct 4 but quite a few years before the fiesta started. Always kinda thought it was a party in honor of our anniversary. :friendly_wink:

Basil, it's been a day or two since I went out that way, but if memory serves me right it is close to a ten hour drive. Granted last time I was out there the speed limit was 55, so it might not take as long now.

Don't think it's that long now. Limit in NM is 75. Not sure about TX but think at least 70.

Last time we came for the Festival, it rained all week, and the lines at restaurants were long. We may be in the area in November, but our son's training in Albuquerque hopefully will be done by then and he and his wife will be living full time in Clovis where he will be stationed for the next few years.

The mass assent ion was a go this morning. Would have gone but still a bit wobbly from my oral surgery yesterday.
