Air Pump Removal

I just replaced the head gasket and during the install of the new head, there was an issue with the air pump connection to the head. I have since removed the fan belt for the air pump and plugged the head. Once I got everything back together, it started without an issue though idling went to 2500 rpm. Before I start playing with the Carb, will I be able to make the required adjustments with the carbs or am I going to have to get the parts to replace the Air pump intake or look at getting new needles for the Carbs.
I am just glad that it started without an issue and no smoke at startup.
The car is a 1275 73 Midget American Car with emmissios (well some)
Thanks,
Allan

Remove the air pump and all the stuff that goes with it, then tune it to 1967 1275 specs.
It will run much better than new
