I pulled out the air filter to check its condition.

Here is what I found:

But Basil, it's cold outside and those little guys have to have a warm bed also. :cryin:

I found evidence of their summer home inside my sills. If you have any small holes (rust or otherwise) they are probably in there. Another good excuse to do a structural check on the car.

Got the winterized baby in the garage? Dog food nearby? Used to dewinterize cars to get ready for shows. As cars were towed to shop and pushed backwards in stalls, upon startup they would shoot dog food from the exhausts at the walls. We had a V-12 that actually shot baby mice out. Stored outside? Mice in the heater core housing and in the seat foams. A mouse can squeeze in a crack 1/8" narrow.
Newer cars too! My brother-in-law bought an 05 Cooper S and when we changed the cabin filter we found 2 dead mice. My sister-in-laws 03 MINI was always parked outside. Her gas mileage dropped horribly and the car had lost it's pep, found the engine air filter over 75% clogged with a mouse nest.

I put my car in storage using one of these: https://www.classiccarcocoon.com/car.html

You drive on it, and fold the top over the car, then zip it closed. It has a rubber strip around the zipper to help seal it, and so far I have not had any critter problems. Its main advantage is that it helps keep the moisture at bay.
