Air cleaner for HD8 on BJ8

Hi All,

Does anyone know of a K&N filter setup to fit the HD8's on a stock BJ8? I know that the Jags E type have HD8's also, but I don't think the filter size they use will clear everything in the engine compartment.

I have considered special ordering some blanks from K&N and cutting the bases myself. But, if there is something already out there, I would rather use them. If I do make my own, what filter area size would be good for a stock engine.

Hi Mark,
First I’ll mention that there is a vendor that advertises on this forum that I believe makes filters for a BJ8. Look on the left side of the page under “Supporting Vendors”. I think his name is Dave and seems like a nice fellow.
I have bought a fair amount of filters directly from K&N. I see they have HS6 carbs listed HERE . You can give them a call. They have many more filter setups than are listed on the website.

I checked with SuFilters and they do not make anything for the BJ8 because of the extreme offsets they would need.

I'll keep looking...

I had seen those before. How do you like them? I have had a few foam filters for our quads and they seem to clog up must faster than our K&N or paper filters. It could mean they just caught more of the dust and dirt, or they did not have as much surface area.

I just want something that is easier to maintain than the stock filters. I hate waiting for the excess oil to drip out. It seems like it also takes a week for the stock cleaners to clear out the excess oil that did not drip out.
