AH Spares and DHL ... Amazing!

I just have to give a shout out to AH Spares and DHL. I ordered a bunch of items from AH Spares on Tuesday morning (about 9 MST) June 4th (2024) (that would have been 7 hours later in UK) and had them delivered to my door on Thursday June 6th mid-afternoon!!! So they traveled from AH Spares in Southham, Warwichshire UK to my home in Larkspur, CO (I'm about an hour from Denver) in under 3 days. This is NOT the first time I've experienced this! I'm just amazed! DHL can get it to me faster than I can get stuff from California.

I had a beef with DHL for hitting me up for $21 in customs fees plus $17 of their own for having to collect it, I guess. I complained through their online system but went ahead and paid it since I had no choice at that point. Was pleasantly surprised when I received a $40 check from them several weeks later with no explanation.

In a similar vein, I needed a new set of Michelin XAS tires and tubes but could not find any domestically. At the suggestion of Alan Hendrix I ordered them online from Longstone in the UK and they were delivered in less than a week at virtually the same cost I would have paid a US supplier had they been available.

When I order tires from Longstone they’ve been delivered by USPS, usually within several days of placing the order.

I've been buying from Longstone for many years. Have bought at least 8-10 sets of tires/tyres over that time. Shipping has always been fast, and they seem to have options that US-based sellers don't have; at least as far as I have seen. Longstone remains my go-to tire source. I currently have their tires on three cars, all bought within the last year or two (two sets of Michelin XAS and one set of Michelin X).

UPS had me by the wiring harness for a large $$$ shipment from DWM a few years back--$30. I think they called it a 'customs fee.'
