I came across this link. The first 5 or so photos are of 3000's. I have not seen many period photos of the big Healeys road racing.

I agree, it's a little harder finding shots of events here in the states. I think the races in the UK had better attendance. Here's a couple of my favorite from early SoCal sports car races. I think these are from Palm Springs, late fifties. The scene really hasn't changed from today, except the size of the umbrella.

Dougie, even in SO Cal they could put Healey fender spears on backwards!

That number 164 looks like a 100S. I wonder what happened to it, it is probably still around somewhere.

I went to quite a few races in the NE in the mid 60's. There were not too many Healeys on the grid by then, but the scenes look similar.

The grid at Thompson, CT on July 20, 1958:

There's more pics of Healeys at this event here: Healeys at Thompson

This is another interesting site with Healey racing pictures from the late 60s and early 70s: Healey Racing

Great photos Dougie. Did all AH's run D-production in SCCA? I noticed a lot of Corvettes too, they usually ran B-production I think?

Oh, hey "Healey 100" which AH had the spear on backwards? Oh, never mind it's #161.

Johnny,

The 100's and the 100/6's ran DP up until the 3000's came out. The 100/6's were then moved to EP. Alan Barker won his 1st of five national championships at Daytona in '65 in a EP 100/6. I had the privilege of meeting Alan and his brother Don a couple of months ago, Alan is still quite a character. At some point the 4 cyl cars were moved to FP, not sure when that happened.

Great pics, in addition to the Healeys I like the Corvette Grand Sport mixing it up with the open wheel cars, and the TR3 on two wheels!

Great old photos guys, thanks for sharing.
