Had this problem way back in the '80 on a trip to Boston. When changing a flat, I noticed that the rear inside shock tower bolt had listened so I figured, since I am down there, I will tighten it. The bolt had striped and, as I remember, easily removed. It seems I had conveniently chosen to fix the flat next to an old-time hardware store, so I went in and asked the owners advice. He suggested I replacing the bolt with a longer one and tighten with a new nut placed just below the original. I took his suggestion and was driving away 20 minutes later. I had forgotten this episode and that nut and bolt remained in place, and tight, for the next 10 or so years.
