AH 3000 carpet dye

Not quite sure if this is the place to ask this question but I looked thru the "Restoration" section, and nothing popped out.

I'd like to dye my carpets, rather than replace them. They've faded a bit from general wear and tear (they're dark blue) but are still in decent shape, and more importantly they fit well. Considering that a new kit from Heritage is well into the $650 range, especially with shipping, it just makes more sense at this point to just freshen things up.

Has anyone used a carpet dye kit and do they work?

With thanks
Dave.

Thanks AUSMHLY. Went to the website. Interesting. I wonder whether or not this would give a "plastic" feel/look to the carpet (not that my carpet could be described as being plush). The shadow blue color is pretty close, though.

Next life, I'm just going to collect stamps....

Cheers
Dave

I've used commonly available RIT dye in the past. Inexpensive, goes on very easy and available in a lot of colors. I tend to get two years and then I would need to reapply.

Hey Dave,
I have used Color-Plus leather and vinyl dye and been real pleased with the results. Not sure if they have a carpet dye but worth a look see. You can go to their website at:

www.colorplus.com

Joanne is the owner and great to deal with.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks to Big Green, Healey Z, and Big Healey Source for your suggestions. Actually I have used RIT in the past on my TR6, and you're right it was inexpensive and it lasted a couple of years (sort of like my current hairline). Actually I found a website:

https://www.detailking.com/content/view/32/57/

that has a number of possibilities...

Cheers
Dave
