Evening all and season's greetings

Does anyone happen to know whether brake calipers are interchangeable from the various models. I'm looking to use BJ8 calipers on my BT7. It's too c-c-cold up here in the Great White North to work in the garage, but I was wondering if some of you southern boys might have an opinion, or some experience in this regard.

With thanks
DB

Thanks Hans.

Appreciate your comment. Not much available on this topic. It leads me to believe that the calipers may be interchangeable, or at least worth a try.

Cheers
DB

Depends on whether you have late BJ8 or early BJ8 calipers, the early ones are the same as yours but the later ones aren't. As shown in the links BigGreen supplied, you will have to know the chassis # they came from. The later ones have different mounting bolt center & bolt directly to arms on the stub axle, whereas the early ones like yours bolt to an adaptor piece that in turn bolts to the stub axle.

I think you may have nailed my question, and my thanks for your input. The BJ8 calipers in question were off of a late 67 model, which based on your comment, bolt on differently from earlier models. The learning curve on Healeys covers a lifetime.

cheers

I've been working on converting my BN6 to 4-wheel disk brakes, and have acquired late BJ8 front swivel axels. The late caliper mounting holes
centers are 3-1/2" and the earlier ones are 3-1/4".
