After market steering wheel options

while we are on the subject, I really want to find a banjo style wheel (remember I have a '76) Something like the one on the bottom left of page A08 of the current Moss catalogue (The picture is actually for the leather rim cover.) Interestingly they use the same Pic in the jag catalogue for the same profuct with the "MG" almost airbrushed out. Any ideas?

Why not try eBay? Lots of Moto Litas there, also genuine Les Leston for the "money is no object" crowd. Any Mini or MGA/B hub will work I believe. I am bidding on a leather 12" for my Lotus replica and unless one of you guys scoop me I hope to buy it for under $30.00. Moto Lita have the horn adapters and Mwrque specific badging on their web site.

You have the upper body for a 12" wheel on that!??!

...Remind me to shake yer hand carefully if we ever "face-to-face"! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Actually, a 12" will be fine. The Westfields aren't that much more weight onna front-end than the real thing.

I think you are confusing the fire breathing 7-replica with the one I am building. Mine is an 11 replica and weighs about 400lbs less that a Spridget. The 7-reps even come with V-8s these days unlike my A-series powered car. And I will have skinny 15" wires with Dunlop racing tires to fit under the streamlined body. I am more worried about the steering being too light!!

Not! I've done my "time" on Westies... weigh less than the original Spridgets, but more'n the Chapman originals...

I wuz just "havin' ya on", hence the: "Actually, a 12" will be fine. The Westfields aren't that much more weight onna front-end than the real thing."

It'll be "responsive" fer sure! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I bought my moto-lita hub from Ebay. I'll try to look for an interior picture.

A very late thought on this subject- I know that the steering wheel splines on a '69 Spridget are different than those on a '72. Was this the only spline "break" or where there others and which are the same as those on the MGB?
