Hi im new here and have a 1980 MGB. getting the weber conversion with cannon header for christmas from brit tek, what kind of muffler should i run with this set up?

Just helped a buddy put a Peco kit on his (also has weber), sounds fantastic; so fantastic I think I may be getting one too with a header though, just my tuppence.

I put the ANSA on mine. I did it because of my past experience with their systems. If I were to buy one today, I would buy the PECO...

Another endorsement for the Peco. It isn't cheap but it is very well built and the sound is wonderful. Deep but not loud unless under load. You may consider repainting it before installation. The paint they have used in the past doesn't last long on the main tubes.

Thanks guys got the package on tuesday and finished it up today. Took it down to a local performance shop and put a glasspack on to see how it sounded. sounded real deep at idle. the sound was supprisingly really good and didn't have a popping ricer sound so i got that and ran it back and dumped out with a chrome tip in font of the back tire. I'll try to post some pics tommorrow. by the way its loud and sounds really good!

This sounds like an after-the-fact post, but my vote for the Peco full system also. Just finished installing on my 80 LE yesterday. The car sounds great and seems to be appreciably quicker than before. Money well spent!

After-the-fact post here too, but another 80 LE with a Peco I installed last year. I stripped the paint off the muffler and its a nice silver colour. I also stripped and painted all the pipes with what was supposed to be high temperature paint from "Advance Auto Parts." What a waste. All the paint before the muffler has burned away. A chrome tip would finish things off nicely but I have other things on my plate now. And the sound? Fantastic.

Tim
