MGA After-market brakes

Replacing 1500 wheel cylinders, I noticed after-market bleed screws were 10mm, so I switched them for the originals (7/16".) Vacuum bleeder just kept drawing air, and I finally located one of the aftermarket screws for comparison. Different angle on the cone, and the BMC part has a tiny pin at the end to close off the drilled port. Happily, it looks like Moss replacements are the same Asian-made one I threw away. As John Wayne said, "Life's tough. It's tougher when you're stupid!"

Take heart Bob, we've all been there with these aftermarket parts. There was a time in the late '80's, early '90's when nothing was available as replacement.

We went "back-n-forth" with 'em back in the mid-90's, a Rolls job. Went to locals then. Just recently tried them again, that went okay.
