Finally after nearly 3 years the engine in my spitfire roared back to life at 5:22 PM CDT yesterday. All I can say to all of you is that if you ever rebuild your engines have it balanced. WHAT a difference. Throttle response is instantanious and the engine doesn't even wiggle on hard accelleration.

Now the fun begins. Finishing the rest of the car. Hope that doesn't take another 3 years. I wanna go DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE!!!!

I congratulate you and yes, envy you. How I wish I had the time and talent to take on a rebuild. Three cheers and now hit the streets..........

One of these days I will post that about my 6 but it will say after 12 years
 
I ran in the cam today. Two pumps of the pedal and it started right up. Set the idle at 1800 rpm and let it run for 30 minutes. every once in a while I would blip it to 2500 rpm. Got one exhaust valve that is adjusted too tight. Popping a bit when it gets warm. Other than that all is well.
