Yes a big enough kid's pool and you could do it. I'm sure someone on this list has tried this technique with a complete shell. It's just washing soda,can buy at Wal-MArt. Same stuff you put in the washing machine. Strain off the big chunks and rest can go down the drain. No acid involved here. Check the WIKI Here or Google Electrolytic Rust removal for more details. Usually done with smaller parts but technique could be scaled up for bigger stuff.

So much for the backyard rust removal program. A shame, since I was going to offer the rust removal facility to other spridget restorers...
 
Hey, a large enough hot tub out to be able to do the job. Filter might have some issues with the rust that comes off but otherwise could be just the ticket.
 
I find rust removal not a problem. Every time I walk by the parts car in the garage I hear rust falling to the cardboard under it.

Note I say it. Not sure of gender, think it died years ago.
