TR6 Advice on TR6 potential purchase and title

That's a large gap. How is the gap at the front of the door? If it's real close, some shimming of the hinges could close up the rear.

Marvin is correct though about the build quality. It is possible that the gap came like that. I have seen them before. Or the car could have been wrecked and repaired.

I doubt it came like that. The door doesn't close right. I am taking the car to a body shop that knows british cars tomorrow to get at root cause. Will keep you all posted.

Had the door and the rest of the car looked at by a body guy that knows Triumphs. Body is amazingly free of rust, so is frame in the TShirt area and where trailing arms attach as well as elsewhere. Other than the outside surfaces, the car is original paint - door jambs, underneath, trunk, floor pans, etc.

Regarding the gap - my body guy says it was likely like this from the factory. There is no evidence of body work, accident, etc.

Compression 150 on all cylinders. Misc stuff like ignition switch is funky, Speedometer doesn't work. etc.

Headed out to buy it now
