MGB-GT Adjustable rocker arms, Volvo --> Rover V8

Probably not the best forum to post this to because its Rover V8 related but here goes anyways. Its intended for those of the MGB V8 w/ BOPR persuasion.

Anyone fit Volvo adjustable rocker arms instead of the stock Rover ones? They are reported to be quasi-interchangable according to the Hardcastle book and were used on Group A engines. I got a line on a pair of rocker trains with the right arms but the seller told me they are (he measured) 1.4 ratio and the Rover is 1.6. Any veracity to this? Anyone do this? Any ideas?

The volvo rockers are usable but will require a bushing to fit the rover rocker shaft. They are also a 1.5 ratio which would mean a drop in valve lift if used with the stock camshaft but would be fine if used with a 1.5 ratio cam UNLESS I was able to bush them with an offset shaft bore and get that .1 back in the ratio. Who knows, I will probably get one rocker and try it out first as an experiment.

Believe me when I tell you this. THEY ARE NOT WORTH THE EFFORT/EXSPENCE. If you want adjustable rockers, call Woody at the wedge shop. https://www.thewedgeshop.com He sells a set of adjustable roller rockers that are worth the money. In fact, they are probably cheaper than trying to make the Volvo ones work. They alone can gain you somewhere in the vicinity of 20 HP on a big motor. Another cheaper option is adjustable pushrods. I have a set of the pushrods on one of my motors and they work well. You won't need to go adjustable unless you go to a cam with more than 470 lift. I think Woody is running a solid lifter cam with about 550 lift in his car with the roller rockers.
