Got this cool little plug for my crank sensor hole on my block

Aluminum on Aluminum.
Will the "Right Stuff Adhesive work for this?

Better the wrong stuff!!! Sorry. Is there any pressure on the plug and how hot will it get. (I think the Right Stuff is up to 500 deg.) Then look on the can for it's limits. Your worst enemy is heat. It will eventually brake down the bonds of any RTV silicone.

Where will this plug mount? With oil and water cooling the engine should not exceed 250 oF except perhaps at very localized hot spots.

"The Right Stuff" is rated to about 450 oF according to the Permatex web site. It is elastomeric like RTV which is a good thing to consider when putting dissimilar metals (with different expansion rates) together.

The RTVs I am familiar with are rated for more than 500 degrees. Silicone seals bonded/spliced with RTV have been common on various pieces of industrial heating equipment and ovens for decades. I have not seen any RTV fail due to high temperatures that did not exceed 500 oF.

Either The Right Stuff or RTV should work well as long as both surfaces are degreased thoroughly before bonding.
