Hi Guys,

Picked up a new addition to the family yesterday. Tight squeeze in the garage but she fits!

She is a running and driving TR250 project car that I got a pretty good deal on. Wanted to get it just to have it for my next project but my TR3 (under the car cover) will get finished first.

She is CD 5228LO Paint Code 56 (Royal Blue) and Trim Code 11 (Black).

Nice. I'd love to have a TR250. Plus, it looks so neat with three generations of Triumphs in your garage.

Congratulations (my favorite color on that body style too)! I'm so jealous as I'd love to have a TR250, but I don't see it happening.

Good for you and the car after seeing some of the stuff your doing to the 3. Bonus on the color.

Outstanding! And an overdrive model to boot. How much of a project is it, from that shot it looks quite nice.

MP,I'd be real careful when you back that middle car out, heh.

Speaking of your poor old parts car, is the starter still on it? If so would the terminal jam nut be on the starter? I do need one badly. The terminal bolt is a 5/16 British thread and so far I am not having much luck getting one.

Congratulations on the addition to the Family!

I'd love to beleive that the TR250 can only increase in value in the ensuing decade or so. Very rare, and very beautiful car.

Take good care of her, maybe she'll pay you back someday . . . :yesnod:

Sorry....

Hi Guys,

Washed the car today and changed the mismatched rims out for my other set of redlines. Looks a little better now:smile:

So, with this car, there is some good and some bad. Again, the car is meant to be a project and what I paid for the car was based on this fact.

The "Bad First". Again, 90 per cent of this I found at my intial inspection over a week ago.

-Two fiberglass fenders on the front. Passenger side has some "spidering" on it where it looks like it made light contact with the bumper corner. Looks like it had a little impact (and I mean little) up front.
-Drivers side rear fender has some rust bubbles and bondo in it. Won't know how bad until I strip it.
-Frame has had some work done (at great expense/I have the receipts) but won't know more until I get the body off in the future.
-Missing the rear side marker lights and badging on the rear fenders.
-some surface rust under the bonnet at the usual places (battery box/bonnet above the radiator
-Radiator looks pretty old although I think that the car runs cooler than my TR6
-Wiring Harness looks to have been patched in several places and looks pretty dodgy...two of the small guages don't work. Horn doesn't work.
-Fid tells me it pops out of second when driving.
-Overdrive not functioning currently. Not sure if it is wiring/solenoid related. Owner said that it was working though and I believe it.
-More little stuff to list but nothing major.
-Engine is showing some age and burning some oil
-Ugly tail pipes after the mufflers.
-4 smaller guages are the wrong year

The Good.

-Looks to be pretty complete
-Tripple Webbers. Expensive "upgrade" when they were new (think I will take em off and sell them although it runs great with them on)
-S2 Cam/Header/Dual Exhaust
-New leather seats
-New Dash and Crash Pads
-came with 3 ARE 4 spoke Wheels in not too bad condition
-It runs and drives
-It's a 250 man!

The wierd.

-Has a trailer hitch on it
-has strange looking air shocks on it in the rear.

ARE's that came with the car (unfortunately, only 3)

tanks!

What color would the nose stripe be on the dark blue? Red maybe?

Always silver on the 250 I believe as no other colour was offered for the stripe. (but then again I could be wrong  )

Looks very nice and sounds like it's in pretty good shape overall. Nice to be able to bring the cars out of storage in March!!!

Congrats! looking forward to seeing it soon.

It looks good from here. Best color for the 250.

Hi Don,

Someone here local to me....why do you ask?

Cheers,
Tush
