Since I was waiting on a couple of radiator hoses and I couldn't just leave well enough alone.

I started taking stuff off the car. First it was the top. So I could get the interior out. Needs to be replaced. That some how led to me taking the doors apart. Somehow that ended up leading to the rear bumper and fenders coming off.

The fenders came off because the ones on it were fiberglass and the PO gave me a set of steel ones, so I figured it was time to put them on.

You tranny carpet looks like it might need cleaning.

I see you DPO kept large quantities of duct tape on board
to fabricate hand crafted repair parts. Mine did also.

When you get around to dealing with those brownish looking
floor pans- a lot of good talent and good ideas to be had here and how to deal with it.

Better check you Armstrong lever shock oil levels.

good luck,

Thanks for the pictures!

So what is the plan, to put the steel fenders back on? Are they the same color?

How did the fiberglass ones fit?

Thanks and believe me I will be coming back for more help than you can imagine.

The fiberglass wings fit OK. I thought they were a little off on the rear end but when I took them off, I found out that the rear valence was beat up more than I thought. There was some bondo done by someone. So I can't really say how they fit. I think they would make a good 10 footer.

The newer ones aren't the same color but then the car is going to get reshot...which is why I decided to change out the wings.

That was me! And kind of what started all of this.

GAVE you the wings?
What kind of bike is seen just leaving the right side of frame one? [/QUOTE]

Yeah he gave me the wings. The last PO was a good guy. Upfront and as honest as he could be about the car.

The bike is one I built. 69 Triumph 500 bobber

That exhaust pipe length could give new meaning to the expression "Hot Butt".

I got the hood/bonnet off this weekend along with the doors and the front fenders and lights.

Was this thing supposed to have as many rivets on it as it did?

The rubber under coating has turned into a real mess. Getting it off is going to take a lot of effort.

Luckily there weren't any big surprises. The rocker panels were pretty bad under the fenders, but I expected that.

The one scary part the splash panels behind the front wheels. The literally crumbled when you touched them. At first I thought there a structural part, but after flipping through some catalogs, I was happy to find out that they are only $25 parts and bolt on fairly easily.

I'll try and post some pics tonight.

The rivets were holding in the front light bowls, The front spoiler, and there were some along the bottom of the fender an d the rocker which i have no clue what they were for.

The fenders and rockers on some models had a stainless steel beauty strip..
