TR4/4A Adapting to Change

My wife has had MS for probably 50 years and as time goes on it has very slowly worsened to the point she needs a walker always. We feel lucky as some MS sufferers decline very quickly. Several years ago I built a hitch and a carrier for my folding bicycle or her walker. We recently bought an electric assist tricycle so she can go longer distances and get more exercise. I built a cargo carrier for the motor home to allow us to take the trike with us. We spent a few days at the Fall Vintage at Road America last year, she went all over place with it. The trailer is my newest adaption, it allow us to go to places and still enjoy our TR4. The lucky girl can even go to local car shows with me. The trailer is from Northern Tool. I removed all but the main slipper spring and put the axle on top the spring to lower the trailer.

Bravo to you and "the lucky girl"! Really great you can do so many things to help; helping her is helping you.

Well done sir!

Marriage well done, God bless you both. Refreshing during this time of hatred and revolt. Frank

It is a fact of life that during a marriage (or partnership for that matter) that one will eventually be the care giver and the other being the care receiver. Young people don't understand this but we older folk know and accept this.

Great story. You are also blessed with the talents, and vision to put these things together.
The greatest blessing is a marriage that endures for these many years.

Now, THAT is cool - great job! If that's not patented, it should be!

Thank you for your kind comments. As some of you know care giving can be difficult. I have always had my own small business so I have a fault of trying to run everything (and sometimes everybody). Part of the reason for the tricycle is for her to have independence from me. While at Road America, I hiked and wandered to different locations on the track. She found an apple tree near the bridge going to the Carousel camping area; we had apple crisp and pies when we got home.
